I was sent a newspaper clipping of this and some other vintage mutes which I had never heard of. I did a search and could find nothing about them.
Using only the hand drawn advertisement images and my own knowledge I have re-created this mute and it’s simply gorgeous to play.
If you’re wanting to re-produce authentic sounds off the early 1900’s or just want a really cool mute that’s different, this is a great mute to have in your bag. It would be a real winner for recordings too as you can dial in the sound by selecting 1 of the 4 hole settings.
This mute is available only in a special black carbon fiber composite in satin or textured finish. It’s light weight, feels nice in the hand and sounds beautiful.
